Planning My Own Wedding
Tomorrow Timothy and I get married!!!!!! THAT is WILD to type considering that it has been years in the making. Our original wedding date was September 12th 2021 and like many couples out there we decided to postpone given the pandemic. We, like many others thought “well by later summer 2022 it has to be done right?!” (hahahahaha) nope it is not. But that being said wedding rules have relaxed a lot and we knew we wanted to get married regardless! The less restrictions were more of a perk than anything 🙂
The wedding planner becomes the bride wooooweeee! I did all of my own planning and design (mainly because I had such a vision and also three years to plan it LOL). It really only became hectic when the wedding season hit full force in early July after being totally dead for a year and a half. The rush of weddings, inquiries, and last minute bookings from putting so many plans on pause was overwhelming. It took its toll on me and also didn’t allow me any time to focus on my own wedding. This means all the little details (timeline, confirming vendors, a few last minute bookings, and organizing all the details of hosting a backyard wedding – generator, lighting, parking, etc.) were done in the two weeks leading up to our wedding day! Luckily we have tons of helpful friends and family who were willing to do pick ups and drop offs for us 🙂
The wedding is going to be a beautiful mix of neutrals with hints of black details. We will start the day getting ready (obvi) and then Timothy and I will do our first look in front of our first house (props to Timothy and his dad for getting the exterior of our reno home ready for this in two weeks!). We will then all hop in the party bus to go to our photo location! We decided it was easier to do all the photos before because I have a dress change, and we wanted to have time to mingle with guests during cocktail hour. We will head back to our venue (private backyard) with about thirty minutes to spare before the ceremony (enough time for touch ups, and relaxing pre-ceremony). Then we will roll right into the evening of ceremony, dinner, speeches and DEF dancing. I truly CANNOT wait to show you all photos in the coming weeks! 🙂
I have to give a special shout out to Ashley from Maverick Event Planning! I hired her as my coordinator and she was truly the only choice! Having worked with her in the past on wedding days I knew I could trust her to execute everything flawlessly.
We can’t wait for our big day tomorrow and we will be sure to share photos with you all! Enjoy these photos of us from 2014 until now (Timothy LOVES photos as you can tell 😉 Xx.
